Travis Lee Collection

Travis Lee (born May 26, 1975 in San Diego, California) is a former Major League Baseball first baseman.

Lee graduated from Capital High School in Olympia, Washington in 1993. He was a great soccer player as well. Lee was initially drafted as the second pick in the 1996 Major League Baseball draft by the Minnesota Twins, but was declared a free agent by MLB after the Twins failed to tender him a contract within fifteen days of the end of the draft. He then signed a four-year, $10 million contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Lee was the starting first baseman in the Diamondbacks' inaugural season of 1998, and he hit .269 with 71 runs scored, 22 home runs, and 72 RBI.Lee had the first hit in Arizona Diamondback history.

Lee was part of the Diamondbacks' trade for Curt Schilling from the Philadelphia Phillies, along with pitchers Vicente Padilla, Omar Daal and Nelson Figueroa on July 26, 2000.

On September 10, 2006, Lee was released by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Lee signed a minor league contract with the Washington Nationals on January 18, 2007, and was invited to spring training. On March 25, 2007, he asked for and was granted his release, citing his lack of desire to play the game.
